Frequently Asked Questions about Rehabilitation Chiropractors
I am recovering from back surgery. Can I get chiropractic care?
Each patient’s treatment is based on an individual assessment. The results will determine if a patient recovering
from back surgery is an ideal candidate. Patients must allow their bodies to recover from surgery before they
receive chiropractic services.
How many sessions do I need to have before I feel better?
For many conditions, 2 or 3 visits for a few weeks may bring significant relief. Some
studies show 12 treatment sessions over a six week period is enough for a standard treatment plan for
chronic back pain. However, the length of treatment depends on the individual’s needs, such as their goals for
treatment and the nature of their injury.
Why are there popping noises during joint and spinal adjustments?
When a chiropractor adjusts spines and joints, a gas bubble may be released between the joints. It is caused by the
change of pressure in the joint. There is little to no discomfort from this release.
Can children go to a rehabilitation chiropractor?
Younger patients can benefit from seeing a rehabilitation chiropractor. As young people become more active, they are
injured from falls, daily activities, and sports. These injuries can cause back and neck pain, stiffness, and
soreness. Through chiropractic care, they can continue to grow healthily without pain or discomfort.
Does insurance cover chiropractic care?
Chiropractic care is covered by most major insurance plans. However, the patient may need a referral from their
doctor for treatment to be fully covered. If you have any questions about your insurance benefits and coverage, we
can help walk you through your benefits plan.
